Roof Turbine Does Not Turn

If the wind is blowing and catches the fins then the turbines act like giant vacuum pumps sucking hundreds of cubic feet of hot air out of an attic per minute.
Roof turbine does not turn. This is a standard turbine vent. These specialty vents do not affect the. I ve gone on the roof and white lithium greased both and but a level on them and they are pretty close to level. Do i have a low pressure system.
While a turbine looks a little complex at first glance it s actually very simple. Normally the force of even slight breezes will cause the turbine vent to spin. Walking around my soffits yes i do have soffit vents and from the attic i can see sunlight in. These will not rust.
The turbins do not turn much at all. Also barely using my finger of course they spin freely no noise etc. Rafter vents or insulation baffles install in any rafter space to create narrow gaps that direct fresh air from the soffit vents to the peak of the roof. All under one attic.
Much like a window this round vent is powered by the wind. In addition pay attention to the maximum roof pitch that will work with the turbines. The turbines are adjustable so that the spinning part is level even though the roof is slanted. Just hot air rising out of one will make it spin.
If you decide to add more turbine vents to your roof be sure to buy ones that are aluminum. As it spins the air blown from the vent is strong enough to blow rain away from the openings between the fins. Turbine fans have no power other than wind so when the wind is not blowing the turbine does not turn. The wind has to blow pretty hard for them to turn good.
Examine the turbine from the exterior from the roof. It houses a circular fan that s very sensitive to breezes. When the wind blows the right way it turns the fan which in turn draws up air from the attic and disperses it. I have 2 whirley bird turbins.
2 of my 3 turbine vents on my roof won t turn unless there s a stronger wind. And my electric bill is outrageous with the ac running almost non stop. Every turbin in my neighborhood is turning and mine may slowely turn. Electric fans electric powered fans use either household current or solar power to drive a.
Not all turbines will fit all roof pitches. A turbine may fail to spin if the bearings become rusty or obstructions such as ice leaves or twigs have become wedged into the turbine.
